The European Society of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology (CIRSE) hosted its 39th annual congress from September 9 to 13 in Copenhagen. The event was a must-attend for all healthcare professionals providing minimally invasive image-guided treatments, comprising more than 1,500 presentations in 250 sessions offered by a faculty of over 500 invited speakers and 870 paper and poster presenters.

As suggested by this year’s theme “Building better care”, a large part of the programme focused on how the advancements in IR can be provided in a clinical setting for optimal patient care. In addition, in two FIRST@CIRSE sessions, the latest research results in IR were presented, further solidifying the field’s evidence base.

CIRSE 2023 offered more hands-on training sessions than ever before, allowing delegates to learn from experienced professionals how to use the tools and materials used in daily practice and advance their technical skills.
